What to Expect During Your X-Ray
Before Your X-Ray
- •Wear comfortable clothing
- •You may need to remove jewellery and accessories or change into a gown
- •Tell us if you are pregnant or may be pregnant
During Your X-Ray
- •Most appointments take around 5–15 minutes
- •Your radiographer will position you while standing, sitting or lying down
- •Several images may be taken from different angles
- •You may be asked to remain still or briefly hold your breath, our friendly staff will guide you
- •The examination is quick and painless
After Your X-Ray
- •You can return to your usual activities immediately
- •Our specialist radiologist will review your images
- •Your report will be sent to your referring practitioner, usually on the same day or by the following day
- •Urgent examinations are prioritised and reported as quickly as possible

Yes. All our X-ray scans are completely bulk billed.
At Bright Radiology we accept walk-in appointments! If you are unsure, feel free to contact us and our team will be happy to assist you.
Your doctor should receive the results of your scan very fast - usually on the same day of the scan or the next day at the latest. If your scan is marked urgent, you will receive the results within 4 hours of the scan.
Please bring your referral form, Medicare card, and any relevant previous imaging or reports if available.
